Taicenn Panel PC TPC-DCS156HT2 Implements in Kitchen Automation
Background:
Every project starts with a challenge. Recently, TAICENN received an inquiry from a client in Kazakhstan who was in the middle of a bidding process for a large-scale kitchen application. They had a specific competitor in mind: a well-known POS solution from HP.
Our mission was clear: match the technical specifications, offer a robust and reliable alternative, and provide the confidence needed to win the bid. I’m happy to share that we have successfully moved this project into the sample testing phase. Here’s a brief overview of how we navigated this project.
Understanding the Core Requirements
The client’s specifications were precise and demanding. For a high-traffic kitchen environment, the system needed to be durable, powerful, and seamlessly integrated. The key requirements were:
- Purpose: All-in-one touch terminal for kitchen use (Kitchen Display System) — operated by cooks on the kitchen line; 16+ h/day operation
- Enclosure: Fanless / sealed design preferred (fans clog with airborne grease in kitchens)
- Size: 15’’/15.6″ Full HD (1920×1080) Display for clear visibility
- CPU: 10th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU or newer, 6+ cores (equivalent to i5-10500E or higher); equivalents accepted
- Memory: 8 GB+ DDR4, 2× SODIMM, expandable to 32 GB+
- Storage: M.2 NVMe SSD, 256 GB+ (512 GB preferred)
- Touch: P-Cap Touch for responsive and modern interaction.
- Operating System: Windows 10/Windows 11 IoT System.
- Durability: Front panel IP54 minimum to withstand splashes and grease.
- Mounting: VESA 100×100 mm; wall / arm / overhead bracket
- Power: External adapter, 220 V input
Our Proposed Solution: TAICENN TPC-DCS156HT2
After carefully reviewing the specs, I recommended our TAICENN TPC-DCS156HT2. It wasn’t just a box-ticking exercise; the specifications had to align perfectly with the client’s operational needs.
Here is the configuration we proposed:
- Model: TPC-DCS156HT2-8G-256GS
- Display: 15.6” Full HD 1920×1080
- Processor: Intel Core i5-1155G7 (11th Gen)
- Memory & Storage: 8GB RAM / 256GB SSD
- Touch Technology: P-Cap Touch
- I/O Ports: 2*GbE, 6*USB3.0, 2*HDMI, 2*COM, Audio
- Power: DC 12V with Power Supply Unit
- Operating System: Windows 11 IoT System.
- Durability: Front panel IP66
- Warranty: 2 Years
Why TPC-DCS156HT?
- Direct Comparability: It meets or exceeds the competitor’s (HP) core specs, providing a like-for-like (or better) performance baseline.
- Designed for the Environment: The fanless design and front IP54 rating are non-negotiable for a kitchen setting, protecting the unit from grease, moisture, and particulates.
- Future-Proof Performance: Powered by Intel’s 11th Gen Tiger Lake platform with integrated Iris Xe Graphics, it offers superior computing and graphics performance—perfect for modern POS and kitchen display systems.
- Modular & Expandable: The modular design and support for high-speed M.2 expansion (WiFi/BT, 4G/5G) offer flexibility that gives the client an edge.
Current Status: Sample Testing Phase
We have supplied the sample unit to our client for their end-user’s testing and validation. This is a critical step where performance, durability, and user experience are put to the test. I am confident in our solution’s ability to perform and am looking forward to the successful completion of this phase.
Key Takeaways
- Listen to the Client: Understanding the end-user’s environment (kitchen) is just as important as matching the technical specs.
- Provide a Complete Package: A good product is nothing without the right I/O, durability, and software support (Win 11 IoT).
- Add Value: By offering a solution that is not just an alternative but a highly competitive and robust industrial-grade product, we turn challenges into opportunities.
This project has been a great example of how cross-border collaboration and the right product can successfully meet specific market demands.
