The sudden outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19 in worldwide has caused tremendous impact on all industries and fields. Its complicated spread method makes everyone rethink our daily life and hygiene habits. Although this virus is mainly spread from one person to another person, it is also possible that people can contract the virus by touching contaminated surfaces or objects and then touching their mouth, nose or even eyes. An article in the “New England Journal of Medicine” points out that the new coronavirus can survive on plastics, steel, glass, and wood products surface for up to a few days, but in the air for up to only three hours. Now, cleaning and protecting everything is more important than ever.
With the progress of reinstatement of living & manufacturing, the cleaning and protection of touchscreen devices used in industrial automation projects also become indispensable. For the HMI hardware in the automation field, includes industrial Panel PC and industrial touch monitor products, the correct cleaning & protective methods is very important, so as to avoid damage to the touchscreen of the system. Here, TAICENN combines some of the characteristics of the coronavirus and outlines some useful suggestions on how to clean our industrial touch panel products to prevent the spread of the virus and protect operators and visitors from Infection.
Preparation:
Prepare the cleaning tools, and please make sure the panel PC (monitor) is not running, or not power on in any way.
We recommend to use industrial grade paper towels, which are stable when wet and will not leave fluff, and paper dust.
Use a spray bottle to atomize the disinfectant into a thin layer. It is recommended to use 70% isopropyl alcohol for disinfection. Please not to use high-concentration alcohol (> 70%), undiluted bleach or ammonia solution, as they may cause discoloration.
Wear masks and silicone gloves When disinfecting the panel PC (monitor) to avoid cross-contamination.
Don’t forget to wash your hands with water and soap before and after wearing gloves.
Cleaning and disinfecting:
Spray the panel PC (monitor) from all sides, then wipe the solution with paper towels, especially at the edges and corners;
Do not allow liquid to enter the device or spray the Panel PC (industrial monitor) directly. Do not reuse paper towels for the next device to avoid cross-contamination;
Leave the panel PC (monitor) to stand for more than half an hour to evaporate the alcohol residue before using the device again;
Treat used masks, towels and gloves as medical waste and dispose of them properly.
